Reasons to Live: #96-110 | lifestyle

hello friends! I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all. -Jan 3. 2016
hi hello!
Here's another list of things that make me super happy! Warning: there are a lot of music things that make me happy here, because that's just really important to me. If you didn't read the last one, it'll be linked here.
96.  yummy, nice smelling candles. The ones that fill up your entire room and make it smell wonderful and gorgeous and just amazing.

97. Thanksgiving. We had a dinner with some family friends on Wednesday, as a mini thanksgiving and it was so fun. It's just wonderful to be around amazing people.

98. Black Friday. Because it's amazing. I didn't really get that much stuff, because I tend to do more shopping during the after Christmas sales. Also, I will be doing a black friday haul post, once the things that I ordered online arrive!

99. half days at school. When you get to come home at noon and it's so nice and wonderful.

100. THE FACT THAT THERE ARE OVER 100 Reasons To Live. That just makes me so happy and proud and a lot of emotions.

101. When your winged eyeliner is extremely awesome. Because recently, I've been wearing winged eyeliner like everyday. It makes me feel so cool and really confident. Bonus points when someone compliments me on it.

102. Lammily doll. It's the realistic version of Barbie, if you didn't know. We read a short story about Barbie in my contemp class, and then we started talking about this doll, and it's just really amazing.

103. The 5SOS Live ALBUM. I am super duper extremely excited. You have no idea. Or maybe you do, I don't know. I, personally, love live albums. They're basically my all time favorite things ever.

104. Emily Jane's cover of Blank Space. It's really good, I think. her voice is stunning, and I really like it. link here.

105. Emma Rowley's cover of I'd Lie. ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG EVER. I love listening to covers of it, and my sister showed me this one and I am in love. She still sings and I am so glad for that because her voice is amazing. Note: this video is super old. link here.

106. Landon Austin and Megan Davies cover of Steal My Girl. YES I KNOW I'm talking about a ton of different music but music is very important and life is very stressful. link here.

107. CHRISTMAS IS COMING. This is very important and I love it and I am so excited. Also, I have a job now, which basically means that I have $$$$ to spend on people for Christmas and that makes me so happy.

108. My best friend's birthday. I'M SO EXCITED. She's turning seventeen, and it's the day after finals are over.

109. Winter Break. I have to get through finals first, though. But I'm very excited. Also, would anybody be interested in an outfit + makeup + hair kind of post for finals. If I do, it'll be uploaded sometime this week.

110. Connor Franta's coming out video. I'm very proud and really think that everyone should go and watch it. Link is here.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you are ever contemplating suicide or something similar, or know someone who might be, please, please, please, please do call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Someone will be available 24/7.

Reasons to Live: #81-95 | lifestyle

hello friends! I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all. -Jan 3. 2016
hi hello!
Here's another list of things that make me very happy! I'm so incredibly sorry that I didn't post a list AT ALL during October! In my defense, I was very confident that I had, but when I was looking at my blog I realized that it must have totally slipped my mind. That's why this one is early in the month + extremely October-centered.

81. Halloween. I had an SAT class. But that's okay. A ton of people at my school were dressed up and I love looking at other people's costumes.

82. The afternath of halloween. And by that, I mean, candy is on SUPER DUPER mega sale.

83. Little old ladies. This sounds a little weird, but I was at Michaels and I was helping this lady (and she must have like 75 years old) and once the coupon came up on her phone she literally said "oh, bless you dear" and she was buying yarn and I was just dying of cuteness.

84. Teachers that allow you to discuss controversial/touchy topics at school. In my contemp. class, that's literally our next unit. Controversy. And we talked about privilege, and I am so thankful to my teacher for allowing me to enlightened like that.

85. Olive Garden. My family and I went last week for an extremely belated dinner for my mom, and it was so much fun! I might do a blog post on it?! We'll see.

86. Watching people perform. I went to our school's marching band home show (my sister and a lot of friends are in color guard, and I used to be) and I just felt so immensely proud of them.

87. Senior Recognition. Going off of the one above, there are people on that guard who have shaped me and countless others, and the effort that they have put in us is just incredible.

88. Band moms. They're the cutest most amazing people in the world. And they're just so supportive and loving and awesome.

89. Gorgeous silks. By this I mean flag silks. The ones that look so stunning for both the crowd and up close.

90. Redecorating something.

91. Rain! I live in CA and we've been in a massive drought for a really long time and it rained just a little bit, but it was enough to make me really happy.

92. Friends that are supportive of you and make you smile when you've been having a bad day. No explanation needed.

93. Easy by Granger Smith. Lots and lots and love to my sister for introducing me to this song. My favorite line is "I'm leather, she's lace".

94. Little kiddos who will love you forever. We have these family friends and we went over to their house, and their daughter who is 6 years old is the best thing ever.

95. Making flower crowns with above mentioned little kids. The enthusiasm that little kids have for just about everything is so fun and so amazing and I love it. Also, I might make a tutorial on these, because the way we made them was different then the traditional way.

Before you leave, I want each and every one of you to remember that you are important and that you are loved and that there is always some reason that you should stay alive. Also, I love you.xx

IMPORTANT: If you are ever contemplating suicide or are feeling down or upset to that level, or know someone who might be, please, please, please do not hesitate to call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Someone will be available 24/7.

I really hope that you like reading about things that make me happy! I love typing these up, because it makes me feel so incredibly grateful for the things and people that I have. If you want to see more of these, you can go to my "reasons to live" tab at the top of my blog! Here's the last one, in case you missed it.

much love,

Reasons to Live: #66-80 | lifestyle

hello friends!
I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all.
-Jan 3. 2016
hi hello!
Today I will be sharing with you wonderful people some reasons to live, which is another way of saying "things that make me very happy".

66. Fall is coming. Which means sweaters and boots and leggings and coziness and autumn leaves. My favorite. It's not actually my favorite season, but I love the clothes that you can wear during fall, because it's a really nice transitions sort of season.

67. Letting your hair down. Basically, wearing it comfy and cozy without having to do some complicated updo sort of thing and being content with that.

68. Not caring what people think. This might just be me mentally allowing myself to become lazy and not put up any effort whatsoever. But, I think it's important to live life for yourself, and not for what other people are going to think about you/judge you for. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

69. Dying your hair. GOALS. Big ones. Please. My mom won't let me, but one day this will happen and I am living vicariously for this moment (I'm actually not, don't kid yourselves). I just really want to dye my hair teal and purple and pink. Please and thank you.

70. Dandelions. you can also interpret this as the fields that you see in movies that are so pretty. Again, one day I will find one to take pictures in and it will be awesome and I am waiting desperately for that moment.

71. When your toes and your nails match. Does this make me super put together or something? I dunno, I just really like it, and it makes me super happy.

72. New school supplies. Because we're still in the first month-month and a half, and most of my supplies haven't been lost yet, which I am extremely proud of myself for.

73. Learning something new. As I sit here, there are about 11 new members who are learning how to spin sabre and rifle. And it's pretty cool to watch.

74. Friday night football games. With the band and the guard and the dance team and the cheer team. And also the football team. And burgers and super cheesy nachos that taste so yummy.

75. Pep work. This is a guard one. Pep work -in case you didn't know- is the routines that the guard performs for the school. You know, the ones where they smile REALLY BIG. It's the one they perform at rallies and football games. Again, I'm watching people learn it and it's just really fun.

76. Crunchy grapes. I am trying to be healthy. Key word is trying. But one of the things that I've discovered is that grapes actually taste good. I love eating them out of the fridge, so that they're cold and crunchy. This coming from the worlds biggest junk food lover.

77. David Archuleta. I finally got his very first album and a lot of the songs on there are really slow and pretty and I love listening to them as I fall asleep.

78. Fireproof. By One Direction. I love it. It's so different from anything that they've ever done, and it's not "teeny bopper bubble gum pop music". I'm so excited to see how the album progresses.

79. Steal my Girl. I really don't know what to say except that I am so proud and happy and in love and ;yeah.

80. Amnesia EP. Because it is FINALLY available in the United States and I could not be happier.

I hope you remember that there is a purpose for each and every single one of you and that you are the bestest most awesomest people in the entire world.

much love,
Archita

Reasons To Live: #51-65 | lifestyle

hello friends!
I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all.

hi hello!
Here are 16 things that make me smile. :-) I hope they make you smile too.

Every single one of you reading this blog deserves happiness and smiles and cuddles and sunshine and rainbows and life. Each of you deserve to live and laugh and be loved by someone AND yourself with the utmost amount of faith. I hope that none of you ever considers suicide and if you do, please remember that you can call someone at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) and someone will be there to talk to you 24/7. I love you.

51. Dolphins. They are the cutest bestest awesomest most adorabelest things in the entire world.

52. Elephants: They rank right up there with the dolphins. They're smart + intelligent, super pretty and just overall amazing.

53. Tigers: Seriously. They're one of my most favorite wild animals in the world. They're just so powerful, but then they can also be really cute and adorable (like when they yawn) and I just think that they're amazing animals.

54. Roller Coasters. I used to hate these but I've recently sorta become super in love with them.

55. Concerts. (Pretend that the emoji with the hearts for eyes is right here) Do I even have to say more?

56/57/58. Miranda Lambert/Justin Moore/Thomas Rhett. Who I saw live on Platinum tour on Saturday. I just love them. They were all super amazing and wonderful live and I was so happy to see them.

59/60. Cotton Candy + Kettle Corn. I have such a weakness for both them. Gimme gimme.

61. Cute couples. While I am totally single, cute couples are just, well cute. I'm not saying like full on PDA just handholding and snuggling.

62. Ed Sheeran. LOVE. His voice is beautiful. He's also kind and sweet and cuddly and funny. Need I say more?

63. Decorating a locker. Hint hint to an upcoming post. Also, I just really enjoy doing this. It's really nice + you end up with a beautiful result + I find it personally quite relaxing.

64. Michaels. Omigosh favorite place on earth. Okay not really but close. I don't know how anyone even spends less than 30 minutes in one. Favorite place.

65. Jawbreaking. It's an online clothing store that seriously makes the best clothes. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Their clothes are usually wayyy out of price range (I'm pretty stingy with my money) but they are having a sale right now, which makes their clothes sorta affordable. If you're broke (like me) they have these really cool lookbooks + pictures that you can outfit inspiration from.

Much love,
Archita

Reasons To Live: #27-50 | lifestyle

hello friends!
I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all.
-Jan 3. 2016
hi hello!
I'm so sorry, it's been SO long since I've done a reasons to live! Let's get into it!

27: Moving. In my case this means a chance to redecorate and organize and get new posters and things like that.

28: DIYs. Which if you could not tell, I have always loved, but recently I have just really really really been liking.

29. Back to School Shopping. I don't particularly enjoy going back to school but I LOVE LOVE LOVE back to school shopping. As in buying notebooks and pencils and erasers and binders and cool things like that. And then putting them in a new backpack.

Note: I actually haven't done that much back to school shopping this year because I'm trying to go through all of the supplies that I already have so that I don't buy a bunch of highlighters and things like that which I really don't need.

30. The opening feature to a show. This is a color guard/band one. If you didn't know, I officially can not do guard/band this season. I know that it's my own fault, because my grades SERIOUSLY suffered last year and I need to bring them back up. On a more positive note however, my sister is still doing colorguard so I'm basically living vicariously through her. And in practice they just started learning their opening flag work and I think that it looks super awesome!

31. All Time Low. I've recently been listening to them a lot. They make me happy. Do I need to say more.

32. Pretty poems!

33. True love. Because I am a 100000000% a romantic and will always be. I sometimes which I wasn't because I feel like I have really high expectations for things. BUT, I believe that true love exists and that it is something that you should cherish.

34. Grey's Anatomy. I am OBSESSED. I adore this show. I just began season 4. ADORE.

35. Netflix. Because it has unlimited TV. Which is so totally enough to win me over.

36. Aquariums. I really want to go to one. I feel like when I was a kid I would go to them a lot and then I got to high school and we just stopped. I want to go to one.

37. Humpback whales. I've always really liked them. They're big and pretty and yeah. Do I need more.

38. Orca's. Or Shamu. Or Killer Whales. Whatever you want to call them. SERIOUSLY. I really like them. I think it has something to do with the black and white and how that's different from being just black or just white or blue or whatever. I remember being little and really just wanting go see Shamu.

39. Flowers and Sunshine. Yes I know this is like super cheesy and stuff but everyone in the world should go outside and hang out with their friend or their mom or someone and just sit outside and enjoy the sun. DO IT.

40. Picnics. Little sandwiches and watermelon and grapes and cheese and whatever else you eat on a picnic. While you sit on a checkered sheet and cool things like that.

41. Watermelon. Do we see a recurring theme here? Yes. No. Maybe so? It's really yummy. Sorry if you don't like it but watermelon is basically the only fruit that I like. If you don't just insert your own yummy fruit.

42. Chocolate. If you don't like fruit. Then maybe chocolate can be your fix.

44. Summer Concerts. Not that I've ever been to one. But I imagine that they are wonderful and loads of fun. Use your imagination.

45. Sleeping for an entire day + night. I did this like two days ago. #NoRagrets.

46. We are Complicated. The link is to it is below. It's basically a mashup combination thing of "We are NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER" and "COMPLICATED" and it just makes me so unbelievably happy. EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO IT OKAY.  http://tumboy.tumblr.com/post/44170773705/taylor-swift-vs-avril-lavigne-we-are

47. Happy Little Pill. By Troye Sivan. Listen to it. Love it. Adore it. Be proud of him. OKAY. I am extremely in love with this song. SO YEAH.

48. TRXYE. BY Troye Sivan. It's his EP. It comes out soon. I'm proud. I don't have much else to say that isn't just a string of emotions.

49. Rock Out With Your Socks Off. It's the headlining 5SOS tour in the US and CANADA. And I'm really just extremely excited. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY.

50. BIRTHDAYS. And the reason that I have waited so extremely long to post this is because my birthday's happening soon and I'm really excited.

Thank you so much for reading about wonderful things that make me happy and I hope that at least one or some of them make you happy or smile a little at least. I hope you all know that you deserve to live and you deserve happiness and sunshine and rainbows and beautiful wonderful mysterious things.

Much love,
Archita

Reasons to Live: #14-26 | lifestyle

hello friends!
I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all.
-Jan 3. 2016
hi hello!
First I want to say, I am very very aware of the fact that this is SUPER LATE!. I really thought that I had posted one last week! With no further ado, here is my latest list of things that make me happy!

Also, each and every single one of you deserves and happiness and deserves joy and laughter and life. Pretty pretty pretty please NEVER EVER let anyone, even yourself, tell you that you don't. If you are contemplating suicide or know someone who is, please, please, please call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Someone will be available 24/7.

14. Organizing. Or cleaning things out and finding things that you thought that you lost but actually didn't and now you have it again and it's awesome. Do you like my super cool run on sentence?

15. Starbucks. Specifically, surprising your sister with Starbucks and waiting outside of her history class with above mentioned Starbucks and then making her entire class jealous. This was on the 12th-in case anyone was wondering. No but seriously, I loved doing this. I have a free class after lunch (when my sister has history), and we were both sorta feeling down in the dumps. I had money, so I sorta felt like it was my duty/job/sibling obligation to do something about it, and so I did.

16. Michael Clifford. Or boys who are addicted to video games and have a dye addiction and are cute and pale and have adorkable laughs and seriously the most sassy things ever and we adore them and their amazing voices because they're stunning.

17. 5SOS. Because they finally have an album and that made me so happy and I'm just really insaley proud of how big they're getting and so much is going on and I can't belive it. Sorry this one really doesn't make any sense but yeah.

18. Summer. The fact that it's almost here and I can literally feel and it's getting so super duper hot and stuff. No but it's getting really hot, and I'm actually just getting really restless waiting for summer to FINALLY just happen already. Because, first I have to ge through finals and that just doesn't seem likely.

19. The first practice/workshop of the season. Color guard started again on the 14th as of now, my being part of the team is super duper tentative, but I convinced my mom to let me go to the first workshop. If you didn't know, I did guard both my freshman and sophomore years, and I'm talking about my junior year. But the workshop was AMAZING. As in asdfgjkl; amazing. If you get what I mean. There was just so much talent and so much excitement and omigosh it's amazing.

20. Chem groups. Or groups in any class where you have to do a really hard project together but you end up being really close with your entire group and it's a bond and you can't break it. I think anyone who's had any sort of similar experience will totally relate to what I'm trying to say.

21. Ice Cream. It's the best. I just can't say more.

22. An upcoming field show season. Because there is nothing better then new excitement and buzz and different ideas and thoughts and trying to guess and figure out what's going to be happening soon. It literally feels like the entire marching band is just trying to figure out what we're going to be doing next season and stuff.

23. Pizza. Omigosh it's so good. I just felt that I had to include it in this list somehow.

24. Senior Ball. I'm still a sophomore, but for anyone's who's graduating this year.

25. Running. Exercise. Feeling happy and proud and joyful of your body. It's important to love your body. Especially during the summer.

26.  Poetry Slams. They're just amazing. I have no other words.

Again, thank you so very for taking the time to read this!

Until next time,
Archita (@architaxb)

Reasons to Live #1-13 | lifestyle

hello friends!
I have since switched to blogging on wordpress (architaxb.wordpress.com), producing about the same lifestyle + diy-esque content that used to be on here! I've left all 'reasons to live' posts, as well as my original first post that began it all.
-Jan 3. 2016

hi hello!
I know that life can be hard, and it always seems like a struggle, especially when you're in high school. I'm going to post a Reason To Live. I know this is an intense thing to say, but if you're feeling down, or maybe you're contemplating it, I want you to know that there is always a reason to live. I'm going to try and do them so that they relate to me, and so that they're a bit more personal that way.

1. Dan + Shay Their song, 19 You + Me, is amazing and wonderful, and so is the rest of their album.
Also, they're sweet, funny, and nice. Their voices are also pretty amazing. I've been listening to them A LOT recently, and I am kinda smitten.

2. “Therapy” by All Time Low. I love this song for so many different reasons. It’s deep and sad but it tells a real story, which many people know all too well. It’s relatable. Which is something that’s often missing in this generations music. One of my favorite things about this song is that All Time Low sings it, and they’re a band who are so famous and so big, and I feel like we often make ourselves think that famous people don’t relate to our problems. That somehow, the money that they have, makes it so that they don’t have struggles. This songs basically shows that they do, and that there are people in the world going through similar things as you. I’m choosing to do this song for today’s reason, because in my lit class we’re analyzing a song, and I chose this one. I was reading the lyrics and it made me really thankful for it. You deserve to live, and you deserve happiness.

3. Fashion Club. I know this one sounds really simple and kinda boring, but it does mean a lot to me. I've loved fashion throughout middle school and high school year. Fashion club, gave me an opportunity to find myself. This is going to sound weird, but my entire life, I always thought that everyone liked makeup and fashion and clothes, and it took me a while to realize that my love for style and makeup is what makes me an individual.

Anyway, today at fashion club, we were learning how to sew, which I was super excited about. It also got me thinking about the fashion show at our school, and which outfits I wanted to do for that. This is going to sound kinda strange, but Fashion club sort of made my day. It made me happy that I had the opportunity to live out my starry eyed 5 year old dreams filled with clothes and shoes and makeup and all that good stuff.

I'm not trying to say that fashion should be your passion, but I'm saying that everyone should have a passion, and if you don't take them time and try to find one. It's worth it, I promise.

4. A Good Grade. So, this post coincides with a little event that happened today. I got my math test back, and I GOT AN 88%. I know that for a lot of people, that’s a bad grade, but for me, I tend to do really bad on my tests, so when I got my test back, I was super duper happy! My goal for a test, is that I improved, and that I understood what I did & what I got wrong. I know that seems really hard to achieve, because in school, we are so pressured to focus on the grade of things, and not the actually learning of things, but I promise that if you try and look at life from that perspective, it’s a lot better.

5. Learning a New Language.

I normally hate Spanish class. I'll be the first one to say it. It's hard for me to learn, but, I have been trying SUPER HARD to really apply myself to the class. I want to take Spanish for all four years that I'm in high school, and so I have to have the basics down! Anyways, today in class we were talking in Spanish and I was actually doing really good and I could understand what people were saying! YAY!

6. Spring BreakSo, admittedly I'm not really doing anything special. Mostly, I'm studying and sleeping, but also playing around with makeup :) However, spring break is a fabulous way to unwind and relax after a stressful few weeks of school.

7. Frozen-Yes I know. I am extremely super duper late to be posting about this but I am really in love with the soundtrack (who isn't). The movie sends a wonderful message, and is just so encouraging.

8. 21 by Patrick Roche. I saw this on Button Poetry and also Upworthy. I seriously recommend checking it out because it's amazing. The kind of life changing, perspective changing sort of amazing. The kind that makes me take a minute to breathe and just re-evaluate myself for a second. Here's the link.

9. Jump-roping. Seriously. I haven't jump roped in forever (at least without it being forced by PE) As a kid, I always loved jump roping, and I guess that the love for it has progressed. I love the feeling of it, I really do.

10. Ordering pictures/edits of your favorite quotes or people or anything else. Snapfish had a deal for Penny Prints (where you order prints and each one only costs a penny, and then you pay for shipping and handling. I ordered my pictures around a week and a half ago, and they got here sometime this week. Needless to say, I am very pleased. I have some of my friends and family, some of me, and then some of famous people who have no idea I exist.

11. Grandma's. No, but honestly. My grandma lives in India, and she came on Thursday (i think), and she's staying with us for a few months. My grandma is literally one of my most favorite people in the entire world. She's sweet and wonderful and truly understands me. Also, she tells really good jokes.

12. Bike-Riding. So, I don't really ride my bike anywhere (I usually walk), but during the summer I ride it to practice, and I figured it would be good to get in the habit of riding it now. I really only ride it for around 25 minutes (and I've only done it for like two days) but I do enjoy it. I basically ride it from my house to my high school, back, and then a little bit more. It's about a mile each way. Basically, on the way there, my thighs are literally dying because a)I am so out of shape it's pathetic and b) it's a little bit uphill, if that counts for anything. On the way back though, you can literally coast it the entire way. It feels AMAZING. (It's literally a straight mile-so there's no turns or anything, except for red lights) I am in love with that feeling. I am infatuated with it.

13. Chocolate. Specifically fancy chocolate that's kinda expensive but not really because you can still buy it at the drugstore. I adore the white chocolate, even though it's super bad for me and I really shouldn't eat it at all, but I do anyways!

Also, I just want to say that you all deserve happiness and that you deserve to live. Please, please, please never let anyone, including yourself, tell you otherwise.  If you are contemplating suicide or know someone who is, please, please, please call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Someone will be available 24/7.

Until next time,
